About the Role
Nichole Nicolas Photography is seeking a photography assistant (PA) who is other-oriented, focused, efficient, an independent worker, and passionate about photography. The PA will support our primary photographer with planning, setting up, and executing photo shoots at various locations. Position will also include interacting with customers and editing photos.
Duties
- Scouting and securing potential photo shoot locations and venues
- Setting up the studio for shoots
- Organizing, unpacking, and setting up props and equipment at shoot locations
- Assisting with posing clients during the shoot
- Aiding in the creation and printing of shot lists
- Assisting with lighting and camera work
- Taking behind the scenes images and video
- Editing and distributing photos to clients
- Taking instructions from principal photographer
- Learning and supporting the studio workflow
- Working with third party vendors
- Performing administrative work and other tasks as directed
Requirements
- Photography Experience: 2 years
- Familiarity with professional photography equipment (Knowledge of Canon & Godox a plus!)
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse conditions
- Detailed knowledge of photography techniques
- Ability to work after hours when needed
- Good listening and communication skills
- Very organized with strong attention to detail
- Self-starter and critical thinker able to work independently and solve problems
- Reliable, humble and eager to learn
- Flexible and adaptable
- Proficient with photo editing software, including Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
- Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
- High school diploma and at least an associate degree (or current college student)
- Previous experience working as a photography assistant helpful
